[DRAMA] tvN Liar Game (라이어 게임)

After abandoning this blog for so long, I finally had the urge to write another post because I just recently started watching a new k-drama! The k-pop world is facing a lot of crisis right now, so let's focus on the amazing dramas first ㅋㅋㅋ I watched a lot of tvN's dramas and most of them are fun to watch (King of High School, Marriage Not Dating). And I was intrigued by their newest drama on the Monday-Tuesday slot, which has a very interesting premise. Surprisingly, it'll only last for 10 episode, so it's considered a short-drama. I watched 4-episodes so far and enjoying so far. Here's the brief synopsis of the drama:

Various contestants take part in a game show with a prize of 10 billion won. The contestants who can cheat the otehrs wins the prize. Contestants include genius swindler Cha Woo-Jin (Lee Sang-Yoon) and naive college student Nam Da-Jung (Kim So-Eun). (☆)

Liar Game (라이어 게임) Teaser

This drama was based on a manga with the same title, and was adapted into a Japanese TV series back in 2007 (I think). It's a thrilling psychological-mind games with a lot of plot twists which I love.

These three are the only main characters; and there are a lot of side characters that might only show up for 1-2 episodes as their opponents. Kim So-Eun is a great cast to play an innocent and kind young lady. I am currently loving Cha Woo-Jin's character who's a genius and fits perfectly in the Liar Game. And Shin Sung-Rok plays Kang Do-Young's character perfectly with that wicked look of his. I think he's really popular in dramas this year.

Since this drama is also a game about money, we get to see what people would and could do for the sake of money and their greed. The games in the Liar Game also keeps changing every round, so there's always new excitement and tricks going on. So far there's been 2 Rounds, and going to the 3rd one. I'm really curious to see how the story's going to turn out.

 

I think this drama is going to get even more exciting as it goes.
I'm just sad it's only 10-episodes long ㅠㅠ

This new upcoming drama will be taking the Friday-Saturday time slot which previously occupied by Reply 1994. The first episode will air next-week on January 24, 2013 - and it's supposed to be a 20-episodes drama. I so want to call this drama the 'Beautiful Couple' ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Jin-Hee (Song Ji-Hyo) led a satisfying life as a dietitian. She then met medical school student Chang-Min (Choi Jin-Hyuk). Despite his wealthy family's strong opposition, Jin-Hee and Chang-Min decided to get married. Chang-Min's family is full of doctors. Chang-Min though gave up his medical internship and began working as a pharmaceutical salesman. Their marriage life was not happy. Chang-Min's family looked down on Jin-Hee and even Chang-Min seemed to change. Chang-Min began to think terribly of Jin-Hee and they finally divorced.

After their divorce, Jin-Hee became a medical student and now works as an intern. Chang-Min also graduated from medical school and begins to work as an intern. One day, they meet in the emergency room for a hospital where they will both work together. (☆)

Even just reading the plot synopsis, I'm so terribly excited for this drama! I love Song Ji-Hyo and I'm looking forward to seeing her in a drama (which I've never seen before). I think Choi Jin-Hyuk is also a very good cast for this drama - especially because he's such an eye candy~ ✮ Check out the drama preview and characters below ^3^

Awww I'm so excitedd! Both have opposite personalities, which makes them despise each other. It's going to be a great and funny rom-com, hopefully.

[DRAMA] Reply 1994 응답하라1994

After all the hype happening with Reply 1997 (응답하라1997), tvN decided to release another drama with the similar concept - but now it's way back to the year 1994. I was only 2 years old back in 1994, so I didn't know anything about the trends and stuffs. I could relate better with Reply 1997, because it's about a kpop fangirl - fangirling over H.O.T (1st generation idol group). While for Reply 1994, I heard it's about a basketball fangirl. I didn't have any expectation back then with Reply 1997, but I was surprised to see what a great drama it was. Hopefully the same thing happens with Reply 1994 :) Yesterday they aired Episode 00, which will introduce the viewers to the characters and the culture of Korea in 1994.
